Caving in Tennessee

About once every three months I head back to one of my favorite outdoor spots that I discovered in college. Worley’s cave (also called Morril Cave) is a an easy 2 hour drive from Asheville or Boone NC and has a great camping spot just outside of the entrance. When I first discovered this cave (thanks Mark) about 10 years ago it was one of the best adventures I had ever been on. Since 2003 I’ve probably revisited the cave 120 times and logged countless hours roaming around the tunnels.

I haven’t been able to find much documentation on the cave although one of my web design clients: River and Earth Adventures leads guided trips to this cave and has assembled a nice packet. The last page of the PDF is the only known map that I can find.

The Gallery below is a mixture of caving trips and it should give you an idea about how muddy and amazing this place is.
